DENGUE FEVER VACCINE

Dengue fever is caused by the dengue virus, which has four serotypes: Dengue-1, Dengue-2, Dengue-3, and Dengue-4. It is transmitted through the bite of infected Aedes mosquitoes.
Types of Dengue Vaccines
- CYD-TDV (Dengvaxia®): A live-attenuated vaccine recommended only for individuals with a history of dengue infection, subject to eligibility criteria.
- TDV (Qdenga®): A live-attenuated vaccine that can be administered to individuals with or without a history of dengue infection, according to approved age indications.
Prevention
- Use mosquito repellent.
- Eliminate standing water to prevent mosquito breeding.
- Wear long-sleeved clothing to reduce mosquito bites.
